Every Day The Same Dream Meaning
He describes Every Day The Same Dream as “a slightly existential riff on the theme of alienation and refusal of labor.” One can spend hours trying to decipher the meaning of the game (and people have, endlessly, in the afore-mentioned gaming forums.).
Maybe you see the sequence 222 or 333 over and over again. Some people think seeing 11:11 on the clock is lucky, and a sign to make a wish. But what does it mean if you see the same sequence of numbers repeatedly? Pay attention, because the universe might be trying to tell you something. A sequence of repeating numbers that keeps popping up in your life likely manifests itself to you in a variety of ways to get your attention.
Maybe you always seem to look at the clock at 2:22. Then, later in the same day, you pay $2.22 for your coffee. A few days later you might attend a party at the home of someone with the address 222. Maybe next you stay at a hotel in room 222. This could go on for days, months, or even years before you are able to decode the meaning. While you might want to write these things off as a coincidence, there could be a greater meaning behind the numbers.
For my cousin, it's 333. The numbers first began appearing to her June 26, 2011 at a U2 concert when the band played the song 'Unknown Caller,' and as part of the stage show the numbers 333 fell off a clock on the screen behind the band. From there, coincidences started to mount up — until it felt like maybe it wasn't so much coincidence as.. something else. Is it cosmic? Maybe; maybe not. It all depends on what you believe in.
Decoding The Numbers
After that concert, my cousin began seeing the sequence 333 everywhere. At work, on license plates, and on clocks, up to 12 times in one day. Then, on June 27, 2015 — five years and one day after she first began seeing the numbers — she was driving home from a U2 show in Chicago when she got a phone call at 3:33 p.m. The call was to let her know her dad had died unexpectedly, and suddenly the numbers made sense. Now when she see's 333 she feels her dad communicating with her, and she interprets seeing the sequence as a sign to pay attention.
Astrologers the Astrotwins call these repeating sequences 'master numbers,' and according to their website, seeing 333 over and over is a sign to pay attention to your mind, body, and soul. Though she didn't know what the numbers meant when she first starting seeing them, my cousin began to shift her life in a direction that was more fulfilling. And, during that period between when she saw the first 333 and the time she got the phone call, her dad had been giving her advice about how to pursue her dreams instead of chasing a paycheck, which aligns with a common interpretation of the number three.
'In tarot, 3 represents The Empress: a fertile, abundant, sensual woman who loves to entertain and share with her realm,' the Astrotwins note on their website. 'In numerology, 3 is the socialite. The third house of the zodiac governs communication, curiosity, and mobility. This number pattern could be a wakeup call to get out more, pay attention to people, ask questions, and explore new terrain. Repeating 3s may also be a sign that it’s time to have a party or shift into an abundant mindset rather than giving in to scarcity.'
Receiving The Messages
Different numbers might mean different things. The Astrotwins note that repeatedly seeing the numbers 111 is a wake-up call; 222 means you are being guided to seek balance; 444 means you're being called home; and 555 is a sign that big changes are coming. Spiritual teacher Doreen Virtue writes on the website Mojan that seeing the numbers 666 means you're too focused on the material world; 777 means you're on the right path; 888 is alerting you to prepare for a phase of your life to end; 999 is a sign of completion; and 000 means something has come full circle. Virtue calls them 'angel numbers,' which basically means the same thing, though instead of the universe communicating with you, it's your guardian angels who are trying to guide you. Depending on what you believe, using either term is OK. Whether it's angels, or the universe, your noticing the numbers is no accident.
'First, [the angels] subtly whisper in your ear so you’ll look up in time to notice the clock’s time or a phone number on a billboard. The angels hope you’ll be aware that you’re seeing this same number sequence repeatedly,' Virtue explains on Mojan. 'For instance, you may frequently see the number sequence 111, and it seems every time you look at a clock the time reads 1:11 or 11:11.'
If you're not catching on, you may begin to see the numbers in other places besides a clock face.
'The second way in which angels show you meaningful number sequences is by physically arranging for, say, a car to drive in front of you that has a specific license plate number they want you to see,' Virtue notes on Mojan. 'Those who are aware of this phenomenon become adept at reading the meaning of various license plates. In this way, the angels will actually give you detailed messages.'
Trusting Your Intuition
The more you ignore the numbers, the more likely you are to see them. Short of dropping an anvil on your head, whatever is trying to get your attention will keep showing up until you listen.
In addition to sequential numbers you may see a series of the same non-sequential numbers over and over again as well. This means you'll need to consider the meaning of each of the numbers separately, and what they mean together. This is open to your interpretation based on what's happening in your life.
While you may be tempted to write master, or angel, numbers off as a bunch of new age mumbo jumbo, try to keep an open mind. Everything is open to interpretation, and the real lesson here — whether you believe or not — is that there is always benefit in trusting your intuition, because you are more powerful than you think.
