Corpse Party Book of Shadows (コープスパーティー, Kōpusu Pātī Book of Shadows) is a 2016 Japanese horror film directed by Masafumi Yamada and starring Rina Ikoma, Ryōsuke Ikeoka and Nozomi Maeda.^[1][2] The film is based on the Corpse Party video game series and is a sequel to the 2015 film Corpse Party.^[3] Nijika Ishimori from Keyakizaka46 made her film debut in this film.^[4] It was released in Japan on July 30, 2016.

Plot[edit]

The film starts with a group of students from Byakudan Senior High School who just performed the 'Sachiko Ever After' charm. Arriving in Tenjin Elementary School, Mitsuki Yamamoto is murdered by Sachiko Shinozaki and the screaming students run for their lives.

Meanwhile, Naomi Nakashima who had been hospitalized for half a year due to the non-existents of her dead friends, also Ayumi Shinozaki confesses the fault is hers. She tells that her sister, Hinoe Shinozaki, has actually been researching a possibly way redeem things whom she believed. Using a bone belonging to Sachiko, Ayumi bites it sending Naomi to the point in time she was in the infirmary. Naomi delighted to see Seiko again. At the same time, Ayumi already explained the situation to Yoshiki but were unable to save Yui and Mayu from their fate. Seiko and Naomi discovered Sakutaro's headless body. Hinoe finds the bone missing and realize Ayumi is making a mistake. As there are two things to avoid the repeated death: the forbidden Book of Shadows that is hidden and an entity called 'Sachi'.

Satoshi, alongside Ayumi and Yoshiki found Yuka, but Sachiko surprises them an excruciating torture. Naomi repels Sachiko with the necklace. Byakudan students, Kensuke Kurosaki and an injured Tohko Kirisaki, are hiding till Yuuya Kizami's arrival relieves them. Hinoe enters a narrow light way. The surviving Kisaragi students rediscovers Sachiko's corpse, while Satoshi griefs over Yuka's death. Naomi places the necklace on Sachiko, restoring her sanity once again. The school subsiding, they race to the 'Sakauchi' for return home, then encounter the Byakudan students. Instructing to redo the charm, nothing happens and an argument rises. Then Seiko is decapitated by 'Sachiko' when a black girl, Sachi, emerges from the body and axes Tohko. The rest retreats.

Naomi, Kensuke and Yuuya discuss any hope can bring. They found a camera video and watch another Byakudan student, Emi Urabe, crying as Yuuya stabs her to death. Stunned, Kensuke demands Yuuya an explanation then he stabs him too, revealing Yuuya lacks the sense of morality and responsible for Ryosuke Katayama and Sakutaro's deaths. Hineo saves Ayumi, Yoshiki and Satoshi from evil spirits; clarifies Sachi is Sachiko's resentful twin sister, and ascending Sachiko caused her to awaken. Satoshi refuses to leave unless Naomi is secured. Yuuya arrives and lures them to a science room but Satoshi saw through his deception and fights him. Yoshiki gets crushed and a dying Satoshi hits Yuuya's face with a bottle of sulfuric acid, disfiguring him.

As Hinoe apologies for everything then reveals the Book of Shadows' existence, a horrifically scarred Yuuya kills Hinoe and gives chase until Sachi finishes Yuuya off for good, then Ayumi grabs Sachi and drags them both down onward. Naomi follows Sachiko's voice to a room where the book lies and a white Sachiko appears. Naomi finds herself back in the real world, opening the book she speaks 'As the book leads, please let everyone live!' and place her hand on the page. The room shakes and voices of her friends can be heard when a disgusting creature composed of her dead friends, including Sachiko, crawls into the room terrifying her as the book tears, leaving her fate unknown.

1Yoshiki Kishinuma

I love Yoshiki, he is so adorable and I didn't like how Ayumi acted towards him. She would have been dead without him

He really is a cool character and I wish that he would at least get a warm hug from ayumi for all the things he had done for her

2Ayumi Shinozaki

Well, I already like her from the start because she is beautiful, cute and so on but no just that. Even she who did start the 'Sachiko' thing but she always try to find a way to redeem herself instead of doing nothing. Yeah, she was bit annoyying at start but seem likeable enough as she start to overcome her fear and as the story goes on. She did really care about everyone.

I love Ayumi! I have a feeling everyone has a dislike for her because she had one of the most realistic reactions! Not to mention she went back to HH AND found a way out! I agree the way she treated Yoshiki and Naomi wasn't cool but she was stressed, confused, scared, and not to mention on her period. Everything just piled up and she took it out on the wrong people. Adding in the darkening.. I see a bit of myself in Ayumi, especially problems with feminism! So if people could try and see from my point of view that would be good

Ayumi got first place in the official but she didn't seem like a main character to me. More of a smart supporting character. Naomi was strong, kept going after her best friend died, and has a crush. She basically possesses all the qualities of a main character. - Faziocd

4Seiko Shinohara

Seiko was awesome, so positive and sweet. However, since she died so early I don't think she should have been number one. But otherwise Seiko is an awesome character and I love her

Seiko is best girl cause of her personality (she's positive and sweet) and other than that she's adorable! she didn't deserve to be one of the first ones to die she should've died later on or not at all. she's just so precious and must be protected

5Satoshi Mochida

He was the best character. He faces his fears to protect his friends and family, and was the only character in the entire game and miniseries who kept his cool throughout when everyone else completely lost it at one point or another.

8Sakutaro Morishige

Even though he DID look at corpses and all but it was probably because he had no friends (probably except mayu). Anyways at least he seems affected when his friends other than mayu die (book of shadows wrong end) unlike yoshiki (no offense).

This guy is so awesome, like really, he is smart, even though he was a little crazy, he is just so cool. And his sprite looks like someone from the Matrix :D

The hate towards him is not justified for me. Yes, he took pictures of corpses to feel better and I agree that this was sick and disgusting. But there's more to him guys. His only real friend who accepted him for who he is just died. Wouldn't you be desperate to death too? You also can't compare Morishige with Kizami: Kizami was bad and crazy before HH while Morishige was pretty much normal (even though I strongly believe he suffered some kind of mental sickness like depression) before HH and just went insane in it. His inner self made him extremely vulnerable to the darkening. His character was very realistic and relatable for me. You never know what you can become in places like HH.

I don't know why he isn't added here yet. He's a sadistic brat who kills his classmates.

Favorite character by far. Who doesn't love an adorable sociopath?

Tomohiro is my favorite character, he was a hero like Mitsuki since they both stood up to Kizami and didn't scream in pain or begged for help or begged for him to stop when Kizami was killing them. He even told Kokuhaku to run away when Kizami showed up. I wish Kokuhaku had more character, I think she shoul've had her own extra chapter with her friends and how the curse got to her. by the way I.ship Tomohiro and Kokuhaku.

19Misuto Kiriya

I know a lot of people hate Misuto because of how he uses ayumi, but lets face it, ayumi is gullible. he's one of the coolest characters and deserves more like than he gets.

I can honestly say Misuto is my favourite character. while most would disagree because he used Ayumi, I still prefer him over the other characters. not only is he a cool guy, but he has a good backstory.
